On August 21st at 4:30 PM, Patrick Maloney died in his Arden home with his partner of 42 years at his side. We, Pat’s family, would like to take this opportunity to celebrate the man he was and the legacy that he left. He was a strong supporter of community, humanity and his family; always defending what he believed in, and doing so with an intelligence and integrity that would make our world and our community a better place if it were more common. Pat approached his illness with an astounding amount of grace, dignity and humour; always planning for the future, and providing hope to those who loved him most. His character represents an irreplaceable presence in all of our lives. He will be forever loved and dearly missed by his wife Joanne, son Luke (Bridget), and daughter Emma (Jon). (nee VanNess) At 92 years of age at Eventide Home in Niagara Falls on Saturday, September 24, 2016 Olive peacefully joined her loving husband of 56 years, Clarence, who predeceased her in 1995. Olive was always happiest when preparing food for a family gathering or get-together with friends. She did whatever needed to be done to help family and friends alike; her door was always open and no one ever left her house hungry. She was very well known for her baked goods, especially her pies and homemade doughnuts. Olive finished her working life as an accomplished cake decorator, instructor and supply store owner. In her early years she cooked in a lumber camp, drove taxi, managed Leonard Dining Hall at Queen's University, and working as a housekeeper and babysitter she cared for many families, there were other assorted jobs as well, too numerous to list. In short, Olive touched a lot of lives and she will be fondly remembered by many. She leaves behind a loving family; her children Howard (Sharon), and Penny Humber (David), grandchildren Robbie, Debbie Shepherd, Rodney, Lauralee Walsh, Paula Appleton, Mike Cousins & Patricia Cousins, and 6 wonderful great-grandchildren. Olive is also survived by daughter-in-law…
